New Tesco superstore waterproofed in Plymouth

The new Tesco Extra store planned for Seagrove Road, Plymouth needed to be fully waterproofed. BSWA member Wykamol was called in to advise them of the best waterproofing solution and was subsequently specified by the architect.

Wykamol BBA approved CM8 was used on all the soil retaining foundation walls and then on the floors. An aquadrain system was incorporated into the design so that any water which did come through the foundation walls could be drained away to prevent flooding.

Numerous site visits were made to check progress and meetings held with the architect to keep a close eye on the finer details of the drainage system. New build waterproofing should always be carried out by a professional in order to avoid the devastating results often left behind by those without the necessary expertise and experience.
